The wood beads range slightly from color and grain. The wood beads are from one batch we've made and really illustrate how spectacular Koa is.
Handmade Hawaiian Koa Beads are a type of wood endemic to the Hawaii Islands and are known to reflect strength and courage. The word Koa means “Warrior” and the wood was used in ancient Hawaii for making surfboards.
This necklace like our Malas are hand-knotted in between each bead for durability and to prevent hair snagging. This necklace is also considered a half Mala with 54 beads and a slightly bigger Wood Bead for the Guru.
